Statement of Faith

1. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible to be the verbally and plenary inspired word of God. They are inerrant, infallible and the sole authority for our faith and practice. (II Tim. 3:16) We further believe the Bible has been preserved for the English-speaking people in the King James Version. Therefor, it shall be the practice of this church to preach and teach only from the King James Version.

2. The Godhead

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deut. 6:4; Matthew 28:19)

A. Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, accomplished man’s redemption through His shed blood on the cross of Calvary, was buried, was bodily resurrected three days later, ascended to Heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father and is soon returning.
(Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:18; Rom. 3:24, 25; I Cor. 15:3, 4)

B. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a person, equal with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, converts the unconverted, seals each believer, and assists believers in understanding the scriptures.
(John 16:8-11; Eph. 1:13, 14; Rom. 8:9)

3. Creation

We believe the Genesis account of creation to be six literal days of twenty-four-hour periods, without any evolutionary process. Therefore, we reject evolution and the “gap” theory.
(Gen. 1, 2; Heb. 2:3-4)

4. Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God brought to man by the grace of God. Salvation cannot be earned but must be received through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His blood that was shed for man’s sins. Only the sacrifice of Christ is the acceptable payment for sin to God. We further believe that salvation received is eternal.
(John 1:12; Eph. 2:8, 9; Rom. 6:23; I John 2:1, 2; John 6:37-40

5. Sanctification

We believe sanctification is the progressive work of the holy Spirit in the life of the believer to set them apart unto holiness. Through self-denial, prayer, study of God’s word and self-examination, believers will become separated from the world and be fit vessels to be used of God.
(Rom. 5:8, 9; II Tim. 2:15-16; I Cor. 3:2-3; Heb. 5:11-14)

6. The Eternal State

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men; the spiritually saved unto the resurrection of eternal life in a literal place called Heaven, and the unsaved, upon weather, are placed in a literal place called Hell until the Great White Throne Judgment, at which time they will be cast into the Lake of Fire. For eternity and not to be annihilated.
(Matt. 25:46; I Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11-15)

7. The Church

1. We believe that the church is made up of only born again and baptized believers. We believe the church to be self-governing and free of any external authority or control. We further believe the establishment of the local church is taught in the New Testament and its continuance is based upon the responsibility of its members under the leadership of the pastor.

(Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 20:28-32; Titus 1:5-11; Eph. 5:23)

b. We believe there are two ordinances the church is to observe:

Baptism - the mode of baptism is immersion in water of a professing believer in Jesus Christ, and is to be done in the name of “the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost”

Lord’s Supper - it will be the practice of the church to observe communion at last once per quarter and administer to its members and anyone who has made a profession of Biblical salvation. This church will use non-alcoholic grape juice and unleavened bread for its time of communion.

c. Use of church facilities, sanctuary, fellowship hall, etc. may only be used by active members of the church upon request and following approval by pastor and deacons.

Sunday School/Youth Ministry

a. Superintendent - The Sunday school superintendent shall be responsible for attendance records, finances and curriculum of the Sunday school under guidance of pastor and deacons. He shall be a male member of the church and will be in constant contact with the pastor concerning growth, the need for new classes and progress.

b. Teachers - Teachers for Sunday school classes and youth ministry will only be considered if they are members in good standing and after they have been questioned concerning their doctrinal stand.

8. Biblical Marriage and Human Sexuality

We believe the only legitimate sexual relationship, before God and man, is that of one man and one woman who have been joined together in holy matrimony. We believe that all perversions such as sodomy, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, transgenderism, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful and condemned by God’s word. Therefore, this church reserves the right to neither perform or recognize unbiblical marriages. Neither will this church’s property be used to facilitate such practices. Furthermore, we believe that biblical marriage requires Christians to only marry other Christians.
(Gen. 1:26, 27; Lev. 18:22-24; Rom. 1:26 & 27-32; I Cor. 7:39)

DivorceWe believe marriage is between one man and one woman until death. However, divorce does happen, and we believe divorced and/or remarried people can be used by God. They may not be considered for the office of deacon of pastor unless widowed and remarried to a Christian woman of like faith. This church will not use its facilities, nor shall the pastor perform weddings if either of the ones being married have been divorced.
(Malachi 2:14-16a)

9. Music

We believe the church should hold the highest standard for music that is Christ honoring. We believe that traditional hymns and choruses best do this. We reject music that is worldly in its rhythm as modern day contemporary Christian music.

10. The Ecumenical Movement

We believe the modern-day ecumenical movement to unite religions for the “greater good” is unscriptural and satanic. We strongly reject any alliance with unbiblical religious systems.
(Amos 3:3; IITim. 2:15; II Cor. 6:17-18)

11. Missions

It is the desire of this church to prayerfully and financially support missionaries of the same faith and practice of this church. Missionaries that present their burden and work they are called to shall be discussed among the leaders of the church. If agreed upon, that missionary will be considered for support and voted on by the church. Support for missionaries will be utilized from a separate missions account.
(Mark 16:15-16; Col. 1:23-29)

12. End Times (Eschatology)

We believe in the pre-tribulational rapture, or catching away, of the church. The world will experience seven years of the wrath of God, of which time the anti-Christ and the false prophet will control the masses. At the end of the seven-year tribulation, the Lord Jesus will come back with His Saints and establish His kingdom on earth for a period of one thousand years, also known as the millennial kingdom. During the thousand-year reign of Christ, Satan will be bound. At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be loosed and war against Christ’s kingdom. Satan will then be cast into the Lake of Fire. The Great White Throne Judgement will be set, and every individual that has not been born again will be cast into the Lake of Fire.
(I Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:2, 3, 7 & 15)
